NEW REPORT: Ohio Receives an "A+" in Report on Transparency of Government Spending

Ohio again received an "A+" for its government spending transparency website, according to “Following the Money 2018: How the 50 States Rate in Providing Online Access to Government Spending Data,” the eighth report of its kind by the United States Public Interest Research Group Education Fund and Frontier Group. The state leads the way nationally when it comes to spending transparency, tying this year with West Virginia.

Unlikely Allies Offer Billions in Deficit Reduction Recommendations

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In the midst of the federal budget process, lawmakers remain divided along partisan lines on how to prioritize taxpayer dollars and how to address the fiscal gap between revenues and expenditures. A new report released today by the U.S. Public Interest Research Group (U.S. PIRG) and National Taxpayers Union Foundation (NTUF) provides our elected leaders with some much-needed common ground for progress. Suggesting over $260 billion of deficit reduction recommendations with appeal from across the political spectrum, “Toward Common Ground: Bridging the Political Divide with Deficit Reduction Recommendations for Congress” should act as a roadmap for lowering the deficit without compromising our national priorities.

NEW REPORT: Ohio Receives "A+" in Annual Report on Transparency of Government Spending

Ohio received an “A+” when it comes to government spending transparency, according to “Following the Money 2015: How the 50 States Rate in Providing Online Access to Government Spending Data,” the sixth annual report of its kind by the Ohio Public Interest Research Group Education Fund. Ohio's grade improved significantly since last year, jumping from a D- to the first A+ in the history of this report.
